Minister urges municipalities, corporations to save energy
Hyderabad, Jan 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K Ranga Rao today urged the municipalities and corporations in the state to take steps to conserve energy.
Inaugurating a one-day workshop on 'Energy Saving Opportunities in Urban Areas in Andhra Pradesh' here, he said the chairpersons of the municipalities and corporations should coordinate with the Electricity Department and evolve steps to save energy.
He said there was a potential to save about 15 to 20 per cent in power bills, amounting to about Rs 50 crore per annum, in all urban local bodies in the state.
Chairpersons from 42 municipalities and 14 corporations attended the workshop.
