ECI to record speeches of political leaders in Tripura
Agartala, Jan 3 (UNI) The state election department has decided to record campaigns, including speeches of the leaders of all recognised political parties in Tripura, as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India(ECI).
According to Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) Dr G S G Ayyanger, in most cases it was found that the political leaders, including the candidates, did not follow ECI guidelines, while addressing a public gathering that sometimes triggered reaction among the political parties.
''Considering the political situation of the state, we have decided to keep an audio-visual document of the speeches of the leaders and all other necessary arrangements have already been made,'' Dr Ayyanger stated.
He said that ECI would take all out effort to hold a peaceful and model election in Tripura and as a part of this, the state made cent per cent photo ID cards for the voters and extensive revision of the electoral roll.
As many as 104 fake voters have so far been identified in the final round of scrutiny and an FIR has been lodged against the persons, Dr Ayyanger added.
