Army leading the medal tally in the 51st shooting championship

Ahmedabad, Jan 3 (UNI) Army is leading the medal tally with ten gold, eight silver and four Bronze and NCC came in second position with four gold and four silver medals in the 51st National Schooting Championship which will be underway at city's Rifle club as on today.

Kuheli Gangulee of CISF won the Gold Medal in the 50M Rifle Prone Women event in the 51st National Shooting Championship final today, while Meena from the Army stood second position to win Silver medal and DVS Lakshmi Priya of Army won Bronze medal.

In the teams event consisting Birmati, Meena and Raj Kumari of the Army won Gold while NCC's Lajja, Hema and Meera Kumari adjudged silver and Bronze goes to Maharashtra's Anjali Bhagwat, Tejaswini Sawant and Leena Lad.

In the 50M Rifle Prone Junior Women championship, Rekha C of NCC won Gold while Hema also from NCC got silver and Bronze went to Navdeep Kaur of Indian Airlines.

The Championship is being conducted by the Ahmedabad Military and Rifle Training Association (AMRTA) in collaboration with the National Rifle Association of India and Gujarat State Rifle Association is being underway here Since December 28 till January seven.

In all 1100 participants across the country is participating in which, The highest numbers of participants, 192 players are from Maharashtra, followed by 145 from Uttar Pradesh, 115 from Indian armed forces and 30 players from the host Gujarat.
