According to highly placed sources here tonight, the Home Ministry is acting on the recommendations of the Union Cabinet which met here yesterday when the State's political situation was reviewed. The Cabinet is understood to have decided to recommend to the President dismissal of the Rio government. However, no official confirmation was available on the Centre's move. The Rio government was reduced to a minority after 31 MLAs in the House of 55 voted against it on December 13. The Speaker had, however, refused to acknowledge the voting.
