One person killed, 4 new cars burnt in road accident
Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Jan 2 (UNI) A 40-year-old man was crushed to death and four luxury cars were burnt, after his two-wheeler, hit a container truck and burst into flames on the chennai-bangalore highway.
Police said the container, carrying seven new luxury cars, was proceeding to Chennai from Bangalore, when it hit the two-wheeler at Senthamangalam. As a result, the two-wheeler went beneath the truck and burst into flames, setting the container on fire.
Four cars in the container truck were destroyed in the fire, before fire service personnel from Sriperumbudur rushed to the spot and put out the blaze.
The driver and cleaner of the truck jumped out to safety, police said.
While the motorcycle rider Chandrasekar Shah was killed on the spot, pillion rider Santhosh Kumar (19) sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
