Maoists kill one JAP personnel, injures seven
Rourkela, Jan 2 (UNI) A Jharkhand Armed Police personnel was killed and seven others, including a civilian, were injured when about 150 Maoists attacked the Bansjhar police outpost area on the Orissa-Jharkhand border.
Jharkhand Director General of Police Bishnu Dayal Ram said here today that the extremists attacked the outpost in Simdega district shortly after late last night. The police retaliated and the exchange of fire continued for about four hours.
He said Sunil Sahaya was killed on the spot and the seven were injured in the firing.
Those injured were Amarnath Paswan, N Munda, Md Abraham, Delvis Kerketta, Maheswar Mahanto, S Paul Kerketta (All from Jharkhand Armed Police) and civilian Umesh Yadav, he added.
The injured have been admitted at Ispat General Hospital at Rourkela, police added.
