Hyundai Motor registers 9.2 pc sales growth

(HMIL),
the
country's
second
largest
car
manufacturer,
has
registered
a
combined
sales
of
3,27,160
vehicles
in
2007,
an
increase
of
9.2
per
cent
over
the
previous
year.
In the domestic market, it clocked a growth of 7.6 per cent with 2,00,412 units. Exports grew by 11.8 per cent with 1,26,748 units, a company release here said today. In December 2007, the company recorded an overall growth of 5.6 per cent over the same month last year, with a total sales of 24,664 units. On the domestic front, riding high on the newly launched i10, it clocked an impressive growth of 18.2 per cent, the release said.
While the domestic market accounted for 13,078 units, exports totalled 11,586 units in December 2007. The cumulative sales for December, 2006, had been 23,355 units, the release added.
