Allahabad, Jan 2 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today rejected the demand to prepare state-wise merit list 2007 made by the special BTC aspirants.
The Court also refused to quash the Government Order (GO) that directed the preparation of district-wise merit list of special BTC training course 2007.
Passing the order, Justice Ashok Bhushan, however, accepted the demand of BTC aspirants, directing the state government to prepare the merit index of candidates by adding percentage of marks of their theory and practical of BEd and other training qualifications.
The court has directed the state government to prepare and issue merit list accordingly.
The court passed the order on a bunch of writ petitions filed by Vijay Bahadur and several others, who had challenged the GO.
Some of the writ petitioners (BTC aspirants) had prayed for adding of their marks obtained by them in practical and theory of their training courses like BEd etc for the process of preparing merit list of special BTC course and it was accepted by the court.
To make the availability of primary teachers in the state, the state government had decided to impart a special Basic Teaching Course to those candidates who passed BEd so as to make them eligible for selection and appointment as assistant teacher in primary schools.
