Goa Cabinet authorises use of imported implants, medicines
Panaji, Jan 2 (UNI) Goa Cabinet today authorised the use of imported implants and medicines to facilitate conduct of cardio-thoracic surgeries and cathlab procedures within the ambit of the medical reimbursement scheme for Goans.
While interacting with mediapersons after the Cabinet meeting at the Porvorim Secretariat Complex, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said the Cabinet had authorised construction of a 450-bedded block within the GMC hospital complex, besides appointing a technical supervisor for its blood bank and creating additional posts for ESI hospital and dispensaries.
The Cabinet had also approved appointment of Mr P K Nadkarni as the State Project Director of the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, to speed up implementation of the scheme.
The Cabinet had further decided to constitute Sewerage and Infrastructure Development Corporation, separate from the PWD department, besides approving creation of 140 additional posts in the government.
Deputy collectors were authorised to cut trees in times of emergencies and necessary funds have been placed at their disposal under the tree protection act, the Mr Kamat added.
