Bangalore, Jan 2 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil today asked the Karnataka officials to ensure proper conduct of elections without any confusion and to keep strict vigil on terrorist activities in the State.
Speaking at a high level review meeting, attended by Governor Rameshwar Thakur and other top officials, at Raj Bhavan here tonight, he reportedly told the police and Home Department officials to be ''alive at all times'' to tackle terror threats and leave no place for complaisance.
According to sources, the Home Minister wanted the officials to ensure peaceful conduct of the upcoming elections and all arrangements should be made for that. There should not be any place for confusion, Mr Patil said.
On flood relief, which was on the top of the agenda of the meeting, the Home Minister said the officials should give top priority for rehabilitation and the Centre was always ready to help the people in distress.
The meeting also reviewed the law and order situation over the past three months, after the State was put under Governor's rule. The agenda also included left wing extrieism, security, cyber security, problems of the city, modernisation and disaster management.
