Churu reeling below freezing point for last three days
Jaipur, Jan 2 (UNI) Normal life came to a standstill in northern parts of Rajasthan after the minimum temperature fell below freezing point at some places.
Churu is reeling under intense cold wave conditions with the minimum temperature plummeting to below freezing point for the last three days followed by Pilani registering zero and Ganganagar at 0.7 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.
According to the Met department, the minimum temperature in Churu was minus 0.9 degrees Celsius today. The minimum temperature recorded at Bikaner was 3.5 degrees Celsius, Bharatpur recorded 4.8, Jaipur 5.5, Dholpur 5.8, Sawai Madhopur 6.5, Jaisalmer 6.9, Udaipur 7.4, Chittorgarh 7.5, Ajmer 8.7, Barmer and Rawatbhata recorded 8.5 degrees Celsius.
According to the weather department, the sky was likely to be cloudy for the next 24 hours while there where chances of ground frost at some places.
