Coimbatore, Jan 2 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Tamil Nadu unit President L Ganesan today said the party would forge an alliance with only those parties, who are ready to accept the BJP leader L K Advani as the future Prime Minister.
Talking to newspersons here, he said though alliance partners will be decided only after the announcement of the election date for the Lok Sabha, they should express their desire to accept Mr Advani to rule the destiny of the nation in a crystal-clear manner.
Mr Ganesan alleged the Sri Lanka President Rajapakshe's statement, that Lankan Government would share power with the ethnic Tamils, was unbelievable and this was proved beyond doubt in the murder of a Tamil leader T Maheswaran.
He said his party would not extend its support to Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, but would condemn the harassment of innocent Tamils and violation of human rights by the Lankan government.
The BJP leader said terrorism was increasing in the country, of late, and it was imperative on the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance at the Centre to combat the menace with the introduction of Prevention of Terrorism Act.
Mr Ganesan vehemently criticised the celebration of New Year and alleged that it would destroy the Indian tradition and culture.
The state government had created a record by selling Indian Made Foreign Liquors (IMFL) worth of Rs 45 crore on December 31, an increase of Rs 13 crore over last year, he added.
He said one should not read too much into Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's proposed meeting with the AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa, during his visit to Chennai on January 14. It is only a friendly gesture, he added.
