12 people arrested and more than 62 lakhs worth property recovered
Bangalore, Jan 2 (UNI) Police have arrested 12 people and recovered stolen properties worth more than Rs 62 lakhs, including three lakhs cash, from them, Commissioner of Police Neelam Achutarao said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that the stolen properties recovered included 34 Lap Tops, 55 mobiles, a country made revolver with live bullets, Rs three lakhs cash and six luxury cars.
He said that Boralingaiah alias Bora alias Rajesh used to remove locks of houses by simple methodology of using a thin wire, rob Lap Tops and jewelleries and walk like a Software professional. Though the 26-year-old had robbed 18 Lap Tops, the police had succeeded in nabbing him on December 31 night while robbing a house.
The Commissioner said that the modus operandi of Manohar and his associate Ravi was to purchase luxuary cars through finance from ICICI Bank and Shri Rama Finance but fail to repay the instalment and sell the cars by forging Hypathication documents. Eight Cars, cash Rs three lakhs and jewelleries worth over Rs 2.75 lakhs were seized from them.
He said that with this arrest of 12 people police have solved 22 cases of house robbery, cheating and other theft cases.
