Bangalore, Jan 1 (UNI) The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) have slaped a fine of Rs 20,000 on trainer S K Habib Khan for reversal of form of his charge 'Zafar', the winner of S Nanjundaiah Memorial Plate race as compared to its prevaious performance. The races held here on December 29.
In an earlier incident Mr Khan had been fined Rs 10,000 for failing to declare his charge 'Crackerjack' to start in Sovereign Crown Plate (Div-I) race after having accepted with it, the races was held on December 24, the BTC release said here today.
Trainer Warren Singh was fined Rs 2,000 for using an unserviceable equipment, in Nelmangala Plate. S Padmanabhan, trainer of 'Perfect Tribute' was fined Rs 2,000 for faulty saddling in Saptharishi Cup race.
Jockey S Babu, the rider of 'Pacific Pride', in Krishnarajapuram Plate, Jockey C D Hayes, the rider of 'Mystified' in Ashoka Chakra Cup and Jockey S A De Sousa in Kanchanaganga Plate, were fined Rs 3,000 each for the excessive use of whip on their mounts. This is second infringement for these three Jockeys.
In Kakanakote Plate race, the stipendiary stewards held an enquiry after the race and interviewed Jockey Vinod Shinde, the rider of 'Latin Twister'. The stewards decided to suspend the Jockey's licence from January 8 to January 12, 2008 for careless riding on his mount.
