SGPC revokes suspension of Bedi, grants 4 percent DA to employees
Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, Jan 1 (UNI) The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today decided to revoke the suspension of its former media in-charge Daljeet Singh Bedi.
This decision was taken by the Executive Committee of the SGPC during its meeting held in Mata Nanki Niwas at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib here. The meeting was chaired by SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, Mr Makkar said that Bedi was found to be innocent during the enquiry conducted by a five member committee and allegations against him could not be proved.
The SGPC had suspended Mr Daljeet Singh Bedi two months back following allegations of moral turpitude against him.
Mr Makkar informed that the SGPC executive committee had also decided to give another one year extension to SGPC secretary Harbeant Singh on lump sum salary of Rs 25,000 per month keeping in view his good record.
Besides this, it had also decided to give four percent Dearness Allowance to SGPC employees.
He said that it had also been decided to open nine schools and to give Rs one crore for the Education directorate of the SGPC.
Mr Makkar announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to Khatta Singh, a former driver of Dera Sacha Sauda head and said more assistance would be provided to him, if required .
Meanwhile, Executive committee member Karnail Singh Panjoli has opposed the decision taken by the executive committee for the revocation of suspension of Bedi and granting extension to the SGPC secretary Harbeant Singh.
He demanded that Mr Makkar should be summoned to Akal Takht for taking such ''wrong'' decisions.
