Noida, Jan 1 (UNI) The person, who allegedly made hoax calls about bombs placed in Noida's Centrestage Mall on December 20 and 24, was arrested here this afternoon, police said.
Noida SSP A Satish Ganesh told mediapersons that Yogesh Gautam (28), the owner of the cell phone number 9311829269 from which hoax calls were made, was arrested. He was a resident of Khoda Colony of Ghaziabad.
Gautam had allegedly called the Delhi Police control room first on December 20 at 1720 hrs, saying that he belonged to a terrorist organisation and three bombs had been planted inside the Centrestage Mall which would explode by 1824 hrs that evening.
Later, on December 24, he made a second call about bombs planted in the mall and also in the adjoining Radisson hotel.
The SSP said that in total, he made ten calls from his cell phone, out of which three hoax calls were made about Noida, while investigation was on to find out about the rest of the calls.
Action would be taken against Gautam under the National Security Act besides sections 505(B), 408, 182 and 152 of the IPC he added.
