New Delhi, Jan 1 (UNI) BJP Delhi Pradesh President Harsh Vardhan today said his New Year resolution was to get rid of the ''corrupt and anti people'' Sheila Dikshit government in Delhi.
In a statement on the occasion of the New Year, Dr Harshvardhan said not a single promise made in the election manifesto issued by the Congress in the last two elections have been fulfilled.
''By ensuring defeat to the Congress in the MCD elections, the people of Delhi have announced they want to get rid of the Congress misrule. In view of the forthcoming assembly elections, the Chief Minister has made many false announcements. But, the voters already understand all the moves of the Congress,'' Dr Harshvardhan said.
Dr Harshvardhan said the Chief Minister was misleading 50 lakh residents of unauthorised colonies by issuing misleading advertisements in the newspapers at the cost of crores of rupees.
''The Congress had promised in the Parliament and Legislative Assembly it will regularise these colonies within three months. Now, instead of regularising them the government wants to claim about their development,'' the BJP Delhi Chief said and asked Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy, Minister of state for Urban Development Ajay Maken and Sheila Dikshit that they should tell the people of Delhi on an affidavit that within how much time the unauthorised colonies will be regularised? ''The Government is also making false promises to get rid of the blueline buses by 2010,'' he said.
He said the result of nine years of Ms Dikshit rule was that the Transport Department, Food and Civil Supply Department, Office of the Sub-registrar, DJB, Industry Department, Drugs Controller, Excise Department, Education Department, Health Department had become centres of touts.
The BJP will help the people of Delhi to get rid of the Congress Government which has rendered lakhs of people unemployed and homeless, Dr Harshvardhan added.
