Nagpur student feared drowned in Chennai
Nagpur, Jan 1 (UNI) A student of a city-based school is feared to have drowned in the sea off Chennai, where he had gone to participate in a sports tournament.
The student, identified as Rohan Ramteke, studying in class 12 at Dinanath Junior College and High School, was swept away at the Marina Beach in Chennai this morning, Principal Tripti Ghosh said. The body has not been found yet, she dadded.
Part of the Maharashtra Sepak Tekraw team that participated in a tournament in the Tamil Nadu capital, he had gone to the beach along with teammates after the tournament ended yesterday, and shortly before the team was to leave for Nagpur today, Ms Ghosh said.
Team coach Ramesh Mondal, who is also the physical training instructor at the school, was with the boys when the tragedy occurred, she informed said.
