Govt to distribute cattle to poor: YSR
Hyderabad, Jan 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said his government would distribute 1.32 lakh heads of cattle to the poor in villages for their livelihood.
Speaking at a public meeting on the sidelines of distributing cattle to the beneficiaries at Mamidipalli Village of Saroor Nagar Mandal in Ranga Reddy District, Dr Reddy said 6,000 cattle would be distributed in every district with 50 per cent subsidy on the total cost.
The balance amount would be given through bank loans to help the beneficiares purchase the cattle.
Stating the government was committed to provide livelihood to all poor belonging to SC, ST and Backward Communities, he said the economic conditions of rural areas would improve when the poor started earning.
Dr Reddy said free medical services would be provided to white ration card holders under 'Rajiv Arogyasri' Scheme. This would facilitate poor patients to undergo treatment in corporate hosptials free of cost.
Earlier, participating in another meeting organised with the beneficiaries of INDIRAMMA Housing Scheme at Bandlguda Village, he said the third phase of the scheme would be launched in April.
