DGP gets three-month extension

Chennai, Jan 1: The Tamil Nadu Government has given three months extension of service to state Director-General of Police (DGP) P Rajendran.

An official release here said Mr Rajendran, a 1973 batch IPS officer, who took over as the DGP on August 31, 2007, was to retire on December 31.

Inspector-General of Police(Welfare), Ashish Bhengra, has been transferred and posted as Inspector-General of Police, Civil Supplies CID in the place of M Chidambarasamy, who retired on Monday, the release added.
