Delhi experiences coldest New Year morning in five years
New Delhi, Jan 1 (UNI) Delhi recorded the coldest New Year morning in five years with the minimum temperature plummeting to 2.6 degrees Celsius.
Met office here said while the minimum temperature was four degrees below normal, the maximum also dipped by two degrees below normal to record at 20.0 degrees.
On January 1 last year, the minimum temperature stood at 9 degrees.
The Met department said the minimum visibility recorded this morning was 700 metres.
Yesterday was the coldest December 31 morning in six years with the mercury touching 4.7 degrees.
Meanwhile, the weatherman forecast a mainly clear sky with mist or fog tomorrow morning. The minimum temperature was likely to be around three degrees Celsius, he added.
