Centre nod for ESI super speciality hospital: Minister
Hyderabad, Jan 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Labour and Employment Minister G Vinod today said the Centre has sanctioned a 126-bed super speciality Employees State Insurance (ESI) Hospital for the benefit of the employees.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the hospital would offer medical services to 7.5 lakh insured persons working in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala in neurology, urology, cardiology and paediatric surgery among others.
The total cost of the project was estimated at Rs 92 crore with recurring cost of Rs eight crore.
He said the ESI Corporation had also approved the upgradation of the ESI Hospitals located at Sanat Nagar, Ramchandrapuram and Jeedimetla Diagnostic Centre into 500, 100 and ten-bed hospitals respectively.
The government was also considering to upgrade the ESI Hospital at Tirupati into a 100-bed hospital in view of the rapid industrial growth in and around the temple town.
