New Delhi, Jan 1 (UNI) Three people, involved in the murder of a truck driver in Mehrauli, were arrested and a stolen truck along with Rs 14,000 were recovered from their possession, police said today.
The three arrested were identified as Gaffoora (20), Riyazuddin (30) and Allel (32), all residents of Peepal Khera village in Etta, Uttar Pradesh. Gaffoora, a truck cleaner, had gone missing after the dead body of the truck driver Manvir was found from Dera village in Mehrauli. The police apprehended him after several raids at his house in Noida.
During investigation, Gaffoora admitted that he along with the other two had murdered Manvir to rob his cash of Rs 15,000 on December 27, 2007. As the three were already known to Manvir, they easily got a lift in his truck for going to Mehrauli. On their way in between Palli and Dera villages, they strangulated Manvir with a muffler, threw his body near Jheel Khurd mandir in Dera village and decamped with the truck after looting the cash.
On Gaffoora's information, the police arrested the other two and recovered Rs 14,000 from them. The truck was also recovered later, police said.
