2 killed, 3 injured in chemical factory blast
Pune, Jan 1 (UNI) Two people were killed and three others seriously injured in a blast in a chemical factory situated on the Pune-Sinhagad road here today.
The blast occurred in the ''Sangplast Manufacturing Chemicals'', police said. It took the fire brigade personnel nearly four hours to extinguish the fire.
Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Prashant Ranpise told UNI that the deceased died on the spot and have not been identified yet since their bodies were charred beyond recognition. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital with their condition said to be critical.
Meanwhile, factory owner Amod Modak said 11 people, who were working in the factory at the time of the blast, are also untraceable.
The cause of the blast is not known as yet, police added.
