Vice President Ansari greets people on New Year

New Delhi, Dec 31 (UNI) Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, greeting the people on the eve of New Year today, called for concerted efforts to tackle challenges of poverty, illiteracy and ill health.

''As millions of our citizens face the immense challenges of poverty, illiteracy and illhealth, we should resolve to tackle these on a priority basis. This requires the concerted efforts of everyone of us,''he said in a message.

The Vice President said it was necessary for the country to be free of these evils to become a developed nation ''where every citizen can fully realize one's potential". It could only be realised if all work in unison with dedication and commitment.
