Utt Goenkara to expose the corrupt people on its website

Panaji, Dec 31 (UNI) Reiterating its commitment to eradicate corruption and usher in a good administration, Goan NGO ''Utt Goenkara'' today said it will strive for the betterment of Goa and Goans in all respects in the new year.

Stating that ''Utt Goenkara'' will name corrupt bureaucrats and politicians on the organisation's website, www.uttgoenkara.org and, the NGO urged the people to judiciously use the Right to Information Act as a tool to expose corruption and fight injustice.

Addressing a press conference here today on New Year's eve, Utt Goenkara Spokesman Adv Aires Rodrigues claimed that the NGO has played a pivotal role in scrapping of the Goa Regional Plan 2011, fighting rampant corruption, battling SEZs and IT parks, raising voice against police atrocities and standing by the common man (Aam Aadmi).

He said ''Utt Goenkara'' has resolved not to rest till all the real estate scams in the name of SEZs, IT parks and Food parks are totally scrapped and the men behind them are exposed.

The NGO will hold its one-day convention on March 30, next, to take stock of the situation and chalk out a future strategy to get closer to the people.

Social activist and former founder president of Save Goa Front, Sidhanath Buyao will look after bolstering the NGO's organisational set-up in south Goa.

Expressing the need for new activists to take up the challenge of saving Goa for Goans, Adv Rodrigues lamented the breakdown of communication between the government authorities and the ''Aam Aadmi''.

He said ''Utt Goenkara'' is contacting various Goan associations across the country and Goan groups overseas to involve fellow Goans in this people's movement for the betterment of the state.
