Saina Nehwal,Anup Sridhar top seeds at Pramod Mahajan tournament

New Delhi, Dec 31 (UNI) Saina Nehwal and Anup Sridhar are the top seeds in the women's and men's singles events respectively at the 1st Pramod Mahajan All India senior ranking badminton tournament beginning here at January 3.

Trupti Murgunde, Aditi Mutatkar and Aparna Balan are the other top seeded players in the Women's singles, while P Kashyap, B Chetan Anand, Arvind Bhat, Ravinder Singh, J B S Vidyadhar and Sachin Ratti figure among the top seeds in the men's singles in the tournament, with the highest prize money ever of Rs nine lakhs in the history of the game in India.

Sanave Thomas and Rupesh Kumar, Jose George and J P Ismail are the other top seeds in the Men's doubles, while Dipti Shalini and Dipti Priyadarshini and Ruth Mishra V and Saumya Padhya are the top seeds in the Women's doubles.

V Diju and Akshay Devalkar and K Tanishak and B Kiran Kumar are the other top seeds to figure in the Men's double event.

The winers in Men's and Women's singles category will pocket Rs 1,10,000 each, whereas the winners in both the doubles in men and women's sections will get Rs 60,000 each as prize money. Besides this, PMC will offer free boarding and lodging to all the participants.

The event has already received the blessings of the Badminton Association of India(BAI) to make the event part of its annual calender.
