Rajput accuses Aussie media of playing mind games by misquoting him

By Staff

Melbourne, Dec 31 (UNI) Team India's assistant coach Lalchand Rajput has denied reports that quoted him as saying Yuvraj Singh has attitude problems and claimed he was misquoted.

Rajput said to a news channel that ''I was totally misquoted, because the media manager was with me when we gave a presser and this topic was never discussed at all.'' ''He (Yuvraj Singh) has been doing very well and I think he is our best fielder. So I don't think anybody doubts his capabilities on the field,'' he added.

Earlier, an Australian daily 'The Age' quoted him as saying ''Yes, there's a problem with Yuvraj's attitude.

''We will have to have a one-on-one with him in Sydney.'' The assistant coach further accused Australian media of playing mind games. ''To me, it is just playing mind games. The Australian media had started it before the tour as well - they always keep on doing something or the other.'' The assistant manager of the Indian team, MV Sridhar too denied the reports while speaking to an Indian news channel, he said ''Rajput has never said anything of the sort. He has not made a comment about Yuvraj. There is no problem with his attitude.'' UNI XC RAR CS DB1314
