One killed, HM, Let militants arrested in Kashmir
Srinagar, Dec 31 (UNI) One person was killed and one militant each of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) were arrested in the Kashmir valley overnight, a police spokesman said.
Militants attacked a security force search party at Sumbal today.
Security forces also retaliated and the exchange of fire continued for some time. However, militants managed to escape. Later, some arms and ammunition were recovered, he said.
He said the dead body of 55-year-old Abdul Rashid Malik was recovered from his house at Bonapora Langate, Handwara, in the frontier district of Kupwara.
Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and 49 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) arrested a HM militant Iqbal Dar last night from village Panzath in south Kashmir.
Two hand grenades and 14 rounds of ammunition were recovered from him.
