Mayor Arti Mehra, DPCC chief greet Delhiites on New Year

New Delhi, Dec 31 (UNI) Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra and the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Jaiprakash Agrawal today greeted people of the capital on the occasion of New Year.

In a statement issued on the eve of New Year Mayor Arti Mehra prayed that the coming year would bring peace, prosperity, happiness and comfort in the lives of every citizen of Delhi.

''I pray that our proud nation, as well as loveliest Delhi flourishes and remains free from terrorism during the coming year,''the Mayor said.

She assured that the MCD would cover significant milestones during the coming year also and will be successful in providing clean, healthier and transparent local administration to citizens of Delhi.

In a separate message, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Jai Prakash Agrwal, MP today extended his greetings to the people of Delhi and wished that the New Year would bring prosperity and happiness to all.

In his message he said ''I pray that the New Year heralds more development and progress in Delhi.'' Thanking the people of Delhi for extending their faith and co-operation to the Congress Party's efforts to bring many far-reaching progress and development in Delhi, Mr Agrawal appealed to the Congress workers to work with focused attention and devotion to further strengthen the hold of the party in Delhi and for the development and progress of the Capital.
