Lokayukta confiscates property worth Rs 70 crore
Bangalore, Dec 31 (UNI) Karnataka Upalokayukta Justice G Patribasavana Goud today said the Lokayukta has carried out 36 raids this year and seized property worth about Rs 70 crore.
Talking newspersons here, he said the raids were conducted on on government servants, who had amassed wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.
He said 225 government servants were caught red-handed while accepting bribe from people for official work, as against 216 cases last year.
During the year, 159 cases have been disposed of by the courts after trials, he said adding in 130 cases, charge sheets have been filed in various courts and of them 21 cases have ended in conviction.
