Puducherry, Dec 31 (UNI) AIADMK Puducherry Secretary A Anbazhagan MLA today alleged that the Congress government had failed to implement any welfare scheme in the Union Territory because of groupism in the party.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Anbazhgan said ''it is something unique that the ministers have written a letter to the chief minister, asking him to convene a cabinet meeting.'' ''The government is in total confusion. PCC Chief Shanmugham has denied that the ministers had written a letter to the Chief Minister. If the Chief Minister and PCC Chief deny it, I will produce evidence to prove that the ministers had written such a letter to the Chief Minister,'' he said.

Mr Anbazhagan said if the government failed to correct its course, the party would organise agitations.

He said the AIADMK workers, who democratically opposed the setting up of a liquor shop at Vanjoor in the Karaikal region, were assaulted by the police.

The AIADMK would write a letter to the Lt Governor and Chief Minister, urging them to strictly follow excise guidelines while sanctioning new liquor shops.

He alleged that the administration had so far not spent Rs 250 crore meant for the proposed government medical college.
