Employment to 25 lakh people this fiscal year

Moradabad, Dec 31 (UNI) Mayawati-led Uttar Pradesh government has announced to provide employment to 25 lakh people in this fiscal year under its 'Umbrella scheme.' To bring this scheme to effect, targets for 33 departments had already been set.

According to official sources today, in the year 2007-08, 'Umbrella Scheme' was initiated to give employment to 25 lakh people in the 33 departments, where 4,12,123 people would be employed under 'Swarn Jayanti Rozgar Yojana' of 'Umbrella Scheme.' He said about 33,635 people will get employment under 'Ambedkar Vishesh Rozgar Yojana' and 3,52,480 candidates had been fixed for small scale industries.

Besides this, Social work department, Cooperatives, Milk production, Khadi Gramodyog Nagriya Rozgar, Youth welfare, Basic Education, Handicrafts, Agriculture, Textile, Tourism, Poultry, Electronics, Transportation, Child Welfare, Women Welfare and Urban Development department are included in its employment list.
