CM announces developmental grant for North Bengal
Jalpaiguri, Dec 31 (UNI) Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today announced a grant of Rs 30 crore to North Bengal Development Council for the utilisation within the next three months.
Speaking on the last day of the 15th State Conference of the State Coordination Committee, the Chief Minister said the funds were to be utilised for Road construction and maintainance, Health, North Bengal Medical College Development, reinforcement of river embankments and agriculture.
Alluding at BJP's win in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, Mr Bhattacharjee said that the Congress has once again proven their failure.
He further said that an alternative force needs to be created to combat the evils of fundamentailsm, liberalisation and globalisation.
Meanwhile, speaking on the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Mr Bhattacharjee expressed grief over her untimely death.
