Centre releases Rs 41.46 crore to Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 31 (UNI) The Centre has released Rs 41.46 crore to Kerala under the 'Accelerated Rural Water Programme'.

According to a release here, this was the second instalment of the funds as against the total allocation of Rs 82.93 crore for the programme.

The funds were provided for execution and completion of drinking water schemes in rural habitations and schools enlisted under the programme.

The Ministry of Rural Development also released a grant-in-aid of Rs 3.65 lakh under the 'Swarnajayanthi Gram Swarojgar Yojana' (SGSY), it said.
