Moga, Dec 31 (UNI) A high-level CBI team probing into the 'Moga Sex scandal' has so far questioned about 100 people here including two dozen police personnel, including two DSPs, two inspectors and some advocates..
The Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed the CBI to investigate the sex scandal and file the status report by February 11, as names of the senior police officials and political big wigs had surfaced in the preliminary report submitted by Baghapurana DSP Bhupinder Singh.
According to police sources, the CBI probe was almost over and only a few senior officers, including the then Moga SSP Davinder Singh Garcha, were yet to be questioned after which the team was expected to present the chargesheet in the CBI court at Patiala.
The sources also stated that the CBI had also started collecting property details of senior police officers involved in the scam.
The case of immoral trafficking involved two women Manpreet Kaur and Manjeet Kaur, who in connivance with police officials, allegedly extorted money by threatening innocent people with slapping of sexual abuse cases against them.
Those questioned by CBI team include Raman Kumar, then SHO and the two women named in the case.
All of them, after expiry of their their police remand given by the CBI Patiala court, are now in judicial custody.
