Amneties to State pilgrims at Tirumala will be upgraded

Bangalore, Dec 31 (UNI) With the acquisition of about 7.60 acres of prime land at Tirumala, Karnataka proposes to add new accommodation facilities by spending over Rs 42.48 crores for the benefit of the State pilgrims visiting Tirupathi.

According to an official release here today the necessary permission has been obtained from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to construct additional buildings, renovating existing premises and new housing complex on the lines of Hampi at Tirumala.

The TTD after a great deal of discussion and pursuation from Karnataka had agreed to accord permission has agreed to release 7.60 acres of land at Tirumala. The TTD board had passed a resolution for release of land land on perpetual lease basis.

With the availability of spacious land the state government will construct good lodging facilities, housing complex and renovate the Pushkarini in a phased manner by spending over Rs 42.48 crores, the release added.
