Sixth Tata Open Golf begins on Jan 2

Jamshedpur, Dec 30 (UNI) Top Indian professional golfers including defending champion SSP Chowrasia, Ashok Kumar, Digvijay Singh, Rahul Ganapathy, Uattam Singh Mundey will be seen in action in the 6th edition of Tata Open Golf Tournament-2008, to be held at Beldih and Golmuri golf courses here from January 2 to 6.

Altogether 110 amateurs and professional golfers would take part in the Rs 20 lakh prize money tournament, the fourth event of the Professional Golf Tour of India's (PGTI) 2007-08 season.

The Pro-Am match, in which over 75 amateurs including some leading lady golfers would take part, begining on January 2 while the main draw to be held from January 3.

The tournament is a 72-hole stroke play championship and the cut will be applied after 36 holes. Thereafter, the top 50 players and ties will play over the weekend.
