Prakash to join Congress next week: KPCC chief

Bellary, Dec 30 (UNI) Dissident JD(S) leader and former Karnataka Home Minister M P Prakash will join the Congress next week, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge announced today.

Talking to reporters here, he said Mr Prakash had shown interest in joining the party and discussions were on with party national leaders like Shivraj Patil and Oscar Fernandes in this regard.

''Doors are open to anybody who is willing to follow the principles and ideology of the Congress. Their role in the party will be decided depending on their background,'' he added.
