Nepal recommends Durgesh Man Singh as new ambassador to India
Kathmandu, Dec 30 (UNI) Nepal has recommended Mr Durgesh Man Singh as new ambassador to India.
Earlier, Nepali Congress (NC) leader Shailaja Acharya was proposed for the post, however, she was criticised due to her passive role during the King's direct rule.
Her agreemo was not received from India for long and now her name was withdrawn due to her health, it is said.
Mr Singh, nephew of NC founder late Ganeshman Singh, was Asian Development Bank consultant in Vietnam.
He also served as Nepal's ambassador to Belgium and national planning commission member.
Mr Singh is said to be a student of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Nobel laureate Amartya Sen.
