Agartala, Dec 30: The National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecast (NCMRWF) has forecast a dry and chilly weather till January 3 across the Northeast.
An NCMRWF release issued here today stated foggy and misty conditions were likely in the morning over the region and some parts of the Indo-Gangetic plains.
A fall in the night temperatures was also likely in the NE states during the second half of the week and dry weather would prevail over the region, the release added.
Night temperatures changed a little over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Meghalaya and the weather might remain unchanged till January 3. The wind's speed might be normal and mostly southerly with the average speed of two to three km per hour.
The day and night temperatures may drop by one to two degrees Celsius over normal and overall both the temperatures may vary from 23-24 and 9-11 degrees Celsius respectively, the release mentioned.
