Kolkata, Dec 30 (UNI) BJP today accused the ruling CPI(M) of terrorising people of Nandigram saying even the army personnel either retired or in serving were not spared.

BJP's national spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad has alleged even the CRPF deployed there to restore peace was "denied proper assistance" by the West Bengal police and local administration.

Addressing a news conference today Mr Prasad specifically said four army personnel, including a retired subedar, Aditya Kumar Bera, resident of Gokul Nagar- has been missing since November 10. No action was taken by the police to trace him and it was only after the CRPF was deployed two days later that a missing diary was lodged with the Nandigram police station on November 21.

Besides this, the houses of serving three army jawans were burnt and their property looted because they opposed land grab by the CPI(M) cadres, alleged Mr Prasad. "Their complain was sent by Brig D K Ghosh, dy. GOC, HQ, Bengal Area to IG, range Mr. Gupta- but no action was taken by the police", the BJP leader alleged.

Mr Prasad said all these have exposed true colour of the CPI(M), who talked about Shoharabuddin case in Gujarat, though he had an admitted criminal past, have not the slightest compunction in torturing and terrorising poor peasants and even army personnel.

The BJP leader also cited four cases, which were attempts by the CPI(M) to demoralise the CRPF and CBI as they started taking actions against the criminals so that peace was restored and homeless people could return.

He alleged the CPI(M) in calculated action was trying to terrorise the victims and the witnesses of meyhem by lodging false cases against innocent in collaboration with local administration.

Mr Prasad said the BJP was not against the industrialisation, but the method adopted by the CPI(M) led Left Front government here grabbing fertile lands from the farmers was condemnable.

Referring Gujarat's industrialisation, the BJP spokesman said the Narendra Modi government did industrialiation on fallow land.

Mr Prasad said even the Left Front constituents, Foward Bloc and RSP, did not like the acquisition of farmland for industry.
