Adampur coldest in Punjab at -2 degrees C

Jalandhar, Dec 30 (UNI) The Adampur airbase, near here, witnessed the coldest day of the season in Punjab as mercury further dipped to minus 2 degrees celsius here.

According to Defence spokesperson, Adampur shivered under sever cold wave condition as for the last three days it recorded sub-zero temperature.

In the holy city of Amritsar, also the mercury plunged to minus 1 degree Celsius.

Halwara airbase near Ludhiana was cold at 1.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Pathankot witnessed a slight increase at 5.2 degrees and in Bathinda it was low at 3.8 degrees Celsius.

The Union Territory of Chandigarh was cold at 6.2 degrees Celsius, while in Ambala in Haryana, the minimum temperature recorded was 2.8 degrees.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the minimum temperature in Srinagar further plummeted to minus 8.9 degrees Celsius, while in Jammu it was low at 4.4 degrees and in Udhampur it plunged to minus 1.8 degrees.

For the next 24 hours, the weather office has predicted fog and mist in the morning and a fine to fair sky during day and haze by evening.
