World looks for India's leadership to establish Peace: Sugunendra

Udupi, Dec 29 (UNI) Nations today looking towards India for leadership to re-establish world peace, Sri Sugunendra Thirtha Swamijee of Puttige Mutt, who was all set to assume Paryaya Peeta, said here today.

Speaking to large number of devotees who have assembled to receive him at Udupi last night, after holding his pilgrimage tour of India and abroad the pontiff opined that India which never invaded other countries in the past have every right to preach the message of peace and tranquillity.

Stating that there was urgent need for spreading and popularizing essence of rich Hindu religion and its culture the Swamiji informed that the values of family can be seen only in India.

The pontiff claiming that Madhwa philosophy was the only philosophy that could work practically. "Dwaitha" theory propagated by great saint and philosopher Sri Madhwacharya was the best theory of management which was used by everyone without paying any credit to Sri Madhwacharya.

To popularize this "Madhwa Siddhantha", I have undertaken worldwide tour by visiting 20 nations and invited people from those nations to visit Udupi during his two year term of Paryaya, he said.

Referring to the controversy on ascending Paryayapeeta and conducting Sri Krishna Pooja at the temple following the controversial issue of his foreign tour and stay, the pontiff expressed confidence that issue would be resolved amicably.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala who was also present on the occasion have appealed all the pontiffs of the Udupi Ashta Mutt to settle the controversy on the issue of ascending Paryaya Peeta, handing over the rights of Krishna pooja. "The handing over of the charge and Sri Krishna Pooja could not be stopped" he said.
