Mumbai, Dec 29 (UNI) Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) vice-chairman Dr Vimal Soni was today named the manager of Team India for the ODI tri-series to be played in Australia after the ongoing Test series.
He will take over from Chetan Chauhan who is at present the manager of Team India for the four-Test series against Australia.
''Dr Vimal Soni will be the manager for the ODI tri-series for which the Indian team will be chosen after the conclusion of the third Test against Australia (to be held at Perth from January 16-20, 2008),'' BCCI's Chief Administrative Manager Ratnakar Shetty announced here this afternoon.
Shetty said, ''He (Dr Soni) will replace Chetan Chauhan. Both these appointments were done at the BCCI's Working Committee when it met in Mumbai (on December 16). Chauhan will return after the end of the Test series.'' The Test series will conclude on January 28. India will play a one-off T20 international against Australia on February 1 at Melbourne before the triangular ODI series that starts in Brisbane.
The tri-series features India, Sri Lanka and hosts Australia and will be played from February 3 to March 7.
