ULFA 'corporal' killed, another nabbed in Assam
Guwahati, Dec 29 (UNI) A self-styled ULFA corporal was killed and another nabbed in an encounter with the army in Assam's Tinsukia district today.
The gun battle, between the rebels and 6 J&K Rifles, occurred at Kulbarigaon, under Pengeri police station at 1530 hours.
The decesed was identified as Ghanon Chetia and 'sergeant' Amjad Chetia, who sustained injuries, was nabbed.
Two other outlaws, who also fought the army, managed to flee.
The army, however, immediately sent redeployment to trace the fleeing rebels.
The gunmen were from the '28th battalion', the ULFA's main strike force.
