Tourists flock to MP's Ken river for new year

Panna, MP, Dec 29 (UNI) Surpassing traditional genres of new year celebrations the incredible inflow of tourists from India and abroad in the bosom of nature would witness a unique way of celebration away from the urban cacophony on a tree-house at the Tourist Village Marla at Madhya Pradesh's Panna district.

The Tourist Village become the dream destination for all the nature lovers, which would add zing in their new year celebrations with folk Rai dance, folk music, Bundelkhandi with continental cuisine at the lush green Ken river's bank.

The craze for the place could be discerned from the fact that leaving the five star hotels at world famous Khajuraho, tourists have been flowing here hence all the resorts are full. Seeking no place for them there tents are pitched near the river.

Madla village-based tree house Director Shyamendra Singh said that all cottages have been booked for December 31, 2007 to January 3, 2008 but still bookings are coming through travel agents. The same scene is going on in 'Jewel of the Jungle Hotel' near Panna Tiger Reserve where hotel is also full. Tourists in large quantities are also reaching Ken Resort.

Special arrangements have been done to celebrate the new year eve near Ken river. Besides campfires, delicacies would be cooked in earthen vessels before being served to the tourists.

Similarly, new year preparations are also in full fledge at Jhinna tracking camp amidst dense forest 16 km away from Madla village.
