Ahmedabad, Dec 29 (UNI) Sushma Singh of CISF won the first gold medal in the 51st National Shooting Championship, which commenced at Ahmedabad Military Rifle and Training Association, here today.
Ms Singh won gold medal in sports pistol women event. She was at second place during the qualifying round at 576. But in the finals with 196.6, she clinched the gold medal.
Anuraj Singh of Indian Airlines won the silver medal with 577+191.9.
The third place went to Sweta Chaudhary of ONGC with 567+196.9.
In the championship, more than 1,150 shooters from all over the country are participating.
In junior sports pistol event, Upasana Parasarampuria of Maharashtra won the gold medal with a score of 565/600. The silver was won by Ruby Tomar of Punjab with 552 and bronze went to Rahi of Maharashtra with 549 score.
The events will continue till January 7.
