e-Governance has reduced corruption: Minister
Hyderabad, Dec 29 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD) D Purandeshwari today said e-Governance had improved accessibility, cut down costs and reduced corruption.
Addressing a seminar 'Towards Developing Human Capital For e-Governance' organised by Computer Society of India and School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad here, Ms Purandeshwari said the government considered e-Governance as a vehicle to initiate and sustain reforms in the society.
''The reforms in turn should broaden the opportunities for the masses,'' the Minister said.
She said improved access to information had paved the way for economic prosperity, social development and empowerment of the weakest groups.
