Puducherry, Dec 29 (UNI) The inner party squabbles and groupism in Congress here has snowballed with a prominent leader, questioning the activities of Chief Minister N Rangasamy.
The allegations against the Chief Minister brewed that he was showing undue favouritism in government appointments and other schemes only to his Thattanchavady constituency.
AICC General Secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Narayansamy had demanded Chief Secretary Ragesh Bihari to funish the details of government jobs provided to the people from Thattanchavady from 2001 to December 2007.
Following this, the Chief Secretary had issued a circular to all the departments, boards and corporations to provide the details before January 4.
Five cabinet colleagues of Mr Rangasamy had also written a letter, asking him to convene a cabinet meeting to discuss the issues pertaining to the peoples' welfare.
The sudden development had put Mr Rangasamy in a fix and is now trying to pacify his cabinet colleagues.
PCC Chief P Shanmugham, in a damage control exercise, exhorted the leaders and cadres to maintain decorum and stand united.
Addressing the party formation day here yesterday, he appealed to the leaders and partymen to sink their differences and stay united.
